Hotend, AMS, Heatbreak Fan and Flow Calibration
Last updated: May 2026
The P1S sells in higher volume than the X1 series and shows up in our workshop more often. It uses the same all-in-one hotend as the X1, the same AMS, and the same carbon-rod motion — but skips the lidar and chamber heater. That means a different fault profile: more manual flow calibration drift, more heatbreak fan failures, more door-hinge complaints, and slightly different AMS-feeder behaviour. The repairs themselves are not exotic — Bambu publishes solid wiki procedures for almost every common fault. The value of bringing it to us is honest diagnosis, the right parts in stock, and a properly verified handover so the printer actually works when you get it home.
Tell us what's happening — we'll get back to you same day.
Bambu's all-in-one P1-series hotend replacement, cold-fit per the wiki procedure. We check the silicone sock seating and the heatsink fan health while we're in there.
Without lidar the P1S relies on manual flow calibration in the slicer. After a hotend swap or filament change, flow drifts. We run proper flow + pressure-advance calibration and load the corrected values into your slicer profiles.
First-stage feeder cleaning, broken-filament removal, hub sensor and PTFE replacement. AMS behaviour on P1S is identical to X1, so the diagnostic procedure is the same.
The P1S heatbreak fan is a known wear item — bearing noise after 1000+ hours, intermittent stalling, and eventual heat-creep that masquerades as hotend clogs. We replace and re-test thermal performance with a long PETG print.
The P1S glass door hinges wear and the magnetic catch loses grip over time. We replace hinges, sort the catch, and check enclosure seal — relevant for ABS print success.
Carbon-rod inspection and lubrication, lead-screw grease, belt tension, all fan health, full firmware update, PTFE replacement on AMS and toolhead, plate condition check, manual flow re-baseline, and a verification print.
Simple steps to get your problem solved quickly and professionally.
What's the actual fault? HMS code, print symptom, when it started. P1S has a smaller symptom range than X1C — diagnosis is usually quick.
AMS load/unload cycle, hotend flow test, fan health curve, belt tension check. The P1S exposes most faults within 30 minutes of bench testing.
Common P1S parts are stocked — hotend, heatbreak fan, AMS feeder, PTFE. You see the part and labour before any work goes ahead.
Every P1S leaves with a fresh manual flow calibration and a verification print. We give you the slicer profile values to save into Bambu Studio.

A Kensington W14 business runs a small fleet of Bambu printers. We serviced them onsite — a melted P2S hotend, an H2D chute assembly repair, and full maintenance.
Decode the HMS_0700 family of Bambu AMS feed errors. Stage-by-stage diagnosis for first-stage feeder, buffer, and extruder grip failures with the right fix for each.
When to replace your Bambu Lab build plate, which plate type suits which filament, and the cost of getting it wrong. Covers Bambu A1, P1 and X1 series plates.
