When we can trace the failure to one component, the repair is frequently a fraction of the replacement price. We’re honest in the other direction too: severe liquid corrosion, several failed chips, or physical damage across the board can genuinely make a repair uneconomic, and when that’s what we find we say so rather than run up a bill proving it.
