Do you repair all Mac models?
Yes — MacBook Air, MacBook Pro (Intel and Apple Silicon), iMac, Mac mini and Mac Studio, from models dating back to around 2010 through to the current M-series machines. Should I go to Apple or an independent repairer?
If your Mac is under warranty or covered by AppleCare+, talk to Apple first — third-party repair can affect that cover. Out of warranty, an independent workshop is usually faster and often cheaper, and we can keep repairing ‘vintage’ and ‘obsolete’ machines Apple no longer services. If your particular fault is one Apple handles better, we’ll say so before you spend anything.
Will my files be safe during the repair?
Most repairs — screens, batteries, keyboards, charging ports — don’t touch your data at all. Where a repair does carry storage risk, such as logic board or liquid-damage work, we tell you first and can take a backup before starting where the machine allows it. If your Mac already won’t boot, our data recovery service can usually retrieve your files before repair work begins.
How much does MacBook screen replacement cost?
It depends on the model. Older MacBook Air screens start around £150, while Retina displays for newer MacBook Pros typically range from £250–£450. How much does MacBook battery replacement cost?
Battery replacement typically ranges from £80 to £200 depending on the model — most MacBook Air batteries fall in the £100–£150 range, with larger MacBook Pro batteries at the upper end. You get an exact quote for your model before we order anything, and the service usually adds several years to a Mac that’s otherwise in good condition. My MacBook won't turn on — can you fix it?
Usually, yes. No-power faults range from a failed charger or battery through to board-level problems, and diagnosis differs between Intel and Apple Silicon machines — our MacBook won’t turn on guide covers what to check first. Is my Mac worth repairing, or should I replace it?
Our rule of thumb: if the repair costs well under half the price of an equivalent replacement and the Mac still meets your needs, repair usually wins — a battery swap alone can add years to a MacBook, as our guide on when a battery replacement is worth it explains. Can you recover data from a dead Mac?
In most cases, yes. Even when a Mac won’t boot we can often retrieve files using specialist tools — including from Fusion Drives and T2-era storage. Can you fix a Mac that Apple says is 'vintage' or 'obsolete'?
Absolutely. We specialise in keeping older Macs running. While Apple may no longer support them, we can often source parts and perform repairs that extend the life of your Mac significantly.
What can't be repaired on Apple Silicon Macs?
On M-series Macs the memory is part of the chip and, on most models, the storage is soldered to the board — so RAM and SSD upgrades aren’t possible after purchase. Screens, batteries, keyboards, trackpads, ports and many board-level faults remain fully repairable. We’re upfront about what’s economic on newer machines before you commit to anything.
Do you use genuine Apple parts?
We use genuine Apple parts where available and appropriate. For some repairs, high-quality OEM parts offer the same performance at a lower cost. We’ll always discuss your options and preferences.
