We start by establishing what you've actually got: what the server or NAS does, who depends on it, how it's backed up and what's been going wrong. In most small businesses none of this is written down anywhere.
You get a straight summary — what's healthy, what's at risk and what we'd do about it. If a drive is failing or the backup hasn't run since last year, you'll hear that plainly rather than buried in a document.

None of these are emergencies on the day you notice them. Left alone, all of them eventually become one.
This is the most expensive misunderstanding we come across in small businesses, and it's worth spelling out properly:
RAID survives a dead disk
That is exactly what it's for. One drive fails, the array carries on, you replace the drive. Genuinely useful — but that single scenario is the whole of what it protects you from.
It doesn't survive a deletion
If somebody deletes the wrong folder, or ransomware encrypts the share, RAID faithfully mirrors that change across every disk in the unit. The files are just as gone as they would be on a single drive.
It doesn't survive the building
Fire, flood, theft, or a failed power supply taking the unit with it. One box in one room is one point of failure, however many disks are sitting inside it.
A degraded array is a countdown
Once a disk has failed you're relying on the rest holding out until it's replaced. Rebuilding puts every remaining drive under sustained load — which is precisely when a second one tends to give up.
So keep the RAID, and keep a real backup as well, ideally with a copy off site. We set both up and test that the restore actually works.
